The Northwest Coast Hall at the American Museum of Natural History presents the cultures of ten Nations from the Pacific Northwest, sharing their histories and voices directly. Designed in close collaboration with cultural leaders from each Nation, who served as co-curators, the hall presents each culture through objects carefully housed at AMNH. Exhibition texts and object labels are multilingual, presented in both English and the languages of the represented Nations. More than 1,000 cultural pieces, including 67 monumental carvings, are displayed with insights from Native scholars, artists, and historians, offering a narrative that honors the living heritage and contemporary presence of these communities.
